Trying your first group training session can be equally exciting...and intimidating. Whether you’re new to fitness or just new to working out with others, knowing what to expect helps ease nerves and boost confidence.

At V3 Fit Club, our expert personal training staff is here to help you every step of the way.

Here’s everything you need to know before your first classfrom what to bring to how to get the most out of the experience.

What Happens in a Typical Group Training Session

A standard group fitness training session at V3 Fit Club follows a proven format to maximize results and build community:

• Warm-Up (5 mins): Light movement to activate your body and reduce injury risk.

• Main Workout (30–40 min): A mix of strength, training, and functional movements in circuit or station formats.

• Core and conditioning (5–10 min): Combination of exercises focusing on strengthening the core and increasing cardiovascular fitness done in an interval format.

Each session is led by a certified coach or personal trainer who demonstrates each move and offers modifications for all fitness levels.

What to Bring & How to Prepare

Set yourself up for success with a few simple preparations:

Arrive Early Get there 5 minutes before class to check in, meet your trainer, and settle in.
 
Dress Smart Wear breathable clothes and supportive athletic shoes.

Bring a Water Bottle & Towel Stay hydrated and wipe off sweat to stay comfortable.

Fuel Your Body Eat a light, balanced snack @ 90 minutes before class.

Let Your Trainer Know If you have injuries or limitations, your personal trainer will modify the workout for you.
 
What to Expect Emotionally & Physically:

Your first group workout might feel a little challenging, but you’re not alone. Most new members say the same thing: “That was toughbut I feel great!”
